Der niederträchtige Außerirdische Drek (Stimme im Original: Paul Giamatti / deutsche Stimme: Lutz Schnell) bedroht die gesamte Solana-Galaxie und plant, mithilfe einer Geheimwaffe jeden Planeten in ihr zu vernichten. Bei den Bemühungen, seinen Traum zu verwirklichen, trifft er bald auf den zwar kleinen, aber umso clevereren Roboter Clank (David Kaye / Dirk Hardegen). Die beiden tun sich zusammen und werden schnell zu unzertrennlichen Freunden.
